barrel freak kit

I downloaded the most recent version of GIMP in the last week. Iapos;m having this problem where sometimes when Iapos;m opening a file an error occurs and the program has to be closed. I work with PNG JPG file types. It doesnapos;t tell me what the error is, I just get an Windows box saying apos;GIMP encountered an error and must be closedapos;. Iapos;m running Windows Vista. I didnapos;t have this problem before downloading version 2.6.

Has this happened to anyone else?
